So here is what I ordered from Anthro's tag sale! The Seasons Change Cardi popped out of stock while I was deliberating, but since I wasn't totally in love (no front buttons for warmth, this summer I'll be working in a FREEZING COLD office), it didn't faze me. By the way, the cardi came in three colorways even though only one is left online: white, brown, and a beautiful teal. But I already own a teal cardigan--cashmere, Gap, baggy but looks fine open and cashmere will be warm enough.
I ordered three skirts, but two are navy so I will only be keeping 2/3 at most. Plus two belts (actually four belts since one is a set of there) that sadly didn't qualify for the extra percentage off. It came just over $52; I dropped a $10 necklace at the last minute because I have way too much jewelry and I knew I'd never wear it.
Going under a cut-tag because I got wordy again...
Plaited Brushstrokes Skirt in blue colorway, by Lil (reviews; see also Effortless Anthropologie, For the Love of Fashion)
purchased size 6 for $22.46 (originally $88)

I think this skirt in the orange colorway is hideous. Sorry. (Evidently, bloggers and online stock both disagree with me.) However, I have a long-standing grudge against orange and yellow because they are reluctant to play nicely with my yellow-toned Asian skin. On the other hand, the blue print seems versatile and is right up my alley. I ordered a size 6, which should fit, but I haven't really sussed out my skirt size yet.
Also, this is listed as hand-wash online, but I would put it in the washer and probably the dryer too. If I decide to keep it, I may wash it before returning the other skirts and see if it holds up.
Go Anywhere Skirt in navy, by Fei (reviews)
purchased size XS for $30 (originally $78)

I wasn't able to find any blog reviews of this skirt to judge the length. It's also $7.50 more expensive than the Plaited Brushstrokes Skirt and has questionable quality reviews. However, I love jersey skirts--especially the uneven handkerchief-like hem on this one!--and if I end up wearing this to death, it would be worth it. Maybe it's different enough from the Plaited Brushstrokes to keep both, but I don't need three new skirts--I DO need more work-appropriate tops to pair with my skirts--so this is all pending fit and try-on. I bought this in an XS because of the elastic waistband. This also comes in a gray colorway, but I prefer blue. Hoping that this navy has a purple undertone IRL.
Drawing Parallels Skirt in magenta-purple "plum" colorway, by Odille (reviews; see also Behind the Dressing Room Door, Stuff Jewish Girls Like, Shopping with M, For the Love of Fashion, Small Town Fashionista)
purchased size S for $30 (originally $68)

This has gotten good reviews in the blogosphere. A-line skirts have a comfortable place in my wardrobe year-round. I considered getting the green because I already have two magenta-type skirts; then I realized that both of my magenta skirts are OLD and dying. One is from Kohls, closer to hot pink with a forever-wrinkled hem; the other is from New York & Company about 5 years ago, knit jersey abstract pattern with actual holes in it. I probably need to ban both of these skirts from my business-casual wardrobe, even though the jersey NY&Co skirt is super-comfy and the pattern distracts the eye from its well-used condition. I'm a bit unsure about the paper-bag drawstring waist on this skirt, since I rarely wear tops tucked-in, but we'll see how it works out IRL. Purchased in size S, though I predict that I'd also be able to fit XS.
Here's a great modeling shot from the catalog:

Also comes in a true green, bright citron yellow, dark navy, and white. The latter two colors are still available in almost all sizes online. I recently picked up a cream Anthro Elevenses skirt from a blog sale for $13 shipped, which hopefully will fit the casual-white-skirt hole in my closet. (I have a gorgeous flowy true white silk crepe skirt which is dry-clean only and requires nude underwear. Hence, it doesn't get much wear.) Though now, seeing it on JewishGirl, I kind of regret not ordering the green as well to compare. Green skirts are probably harder to come by than magenta, and it would let me continue branching out in color. Right now I'm pretty much a blue, purple, green-with-blue, and pink-with-purple kind of girl. I have no clue what I would pair with an emerald green skirt, given my limited collection of non-T-shirt, non-black-or-white tops.
Triumvirate Belts in neutral colorway, no brand (reviews)
purchased size S for $30 (originally $48)

The pretty floral colorway was long gone by the time this hit sale. Sold out for a bit, but 2 came back in stock on popback and have just been sitting there. (In fact, the other size S is still there right now.) I always take a small in belts, so this will definitely fit. But I'm in love with the Snapdragon Belt (below) and $70 is an awful lot to drop on belts at one time. In fact, I hate to spend even $10 on a belt, because I'm not a belt fanatic YET, but they really don't drop any lower than that in price. I've spent my whole life self-conscious about my tummy, so naturally I shied away from belting to define my (undefined) waist.
Snapdragon Belt, no brand (reviews--none yet, but here's the permalink)
purchased size S for $40 (originally $78)

I think it looks even better on a mannequin, though admittedly this mannequin is far more shapely than me:

Considered waiting for second cut on this, because there's plenty of stock, but I adore the whimsical flower design and the colors (gray/brown) will work perfectly to mesh with, say, black boots. I've been looking for a wide brown waist belt, even though I generally prefer black to brown AND my hair is black so I'd be wearing brown-black no matter what. Gray background = perfect. $40 is the most I've ever spent on a belt, though, and I don't know whether I'll wear it enough.
Finally, a bonus: agonizing over the Eyeleted Corset Top, which I purchased in-store at the full price of $98 (+no tax, thanks DE!) before leaving for Canada. My store only had a few sizes left in backstock and none out on the floor; I'm sure it would be difficult now to track down a size 2, long sold-out online. I think the 4 currently available online is just 1 popback.
Eyeleted Corset Top by Floreat (reviews; see also Effortless Anthropologie, Erato's Closet--and again)
purchased size 2 for $98

This top has gotten surprisingly little love from the blogosphere. I've been wanting a corset-style top for a while--up to and including a real steel-boned corset from Otakon--and I love the eyelet detail. However, $100 for a top is ridiculous (compare with my Trollbeads bracelet with one charm, which I wear every single day layered with my watch) and since I own no orange (see above) I suspect this will be hard to style. Need to try it on some more when I get home, but it is probably going back. Maybe I'll keep the Snapdragon Belt as an alternative Anthro splurge.
I tried on both size 0 and size 2--no size 4 available--and was able to zip up both, but preferred the looser fit of the 2. It fits me well, though smooshes down my already-flat chest, because of my comparatively large ribcage. Back of bodice is smocked; bodice itself is very well-constructed. Super-flattering and gives me a waist. But--colors and price are a no-go. I don't think mine came with straps, but perhaps I just forgot about them. Here's a gratituous catalog shot:

By the way... for my birthday last month, I walked into my local Anthro with my mom and was prepared to pay full price for a gorgeous, versatile dress. I found the Overwhelmed Aster Dress (perfect fit in size 2 regular) to be gorgeous but terribly impractical; others that I tried on were all meh. I ended up buying the Magnified Corolla Dress for a sweet $30 (third cut, I think) at the register, even though the tag said $90. I am having the lining altered in China so I would probably have returned at $90, but for $30, the print is just lovely. I predict it will look amazing with the Snapdragon Belt. I purchased in size 0 because there was no 2 left and I didn't want to size up to 4. (This was on a different trip than the corset top, or the Inkwell Skirt... I visited Anthro three times in two weeks, I think.)
I am really itching to purge and re-organize my closet. Unfortunately I get home next Saturday afternoon and start work on Monday.
